Abstract

An experimental system is designed and developed/test the thrust characteristics of the propeller of a multirotor aircraft. A remote control simulated by a C8051F120 MCU gives PPM signal to drive and control the propeller system,and then the thrust signal collected by a cantilever force cell by means of a set of mechanism like a lever is sent by serial communication to a PC monitor system for display,store,analysis and treatment. The monitor system on PC ,which provides plenty of such functions as data analysis,display and logging,may manipulate the operation of the field MCU according to the instruction of user,set parameters to the MCU,and real-time deal the data received. The system could be used for the analysis of dynamical and steady behavior, modelling and control system design of the small or micro propeller propulsion system,and act as a teaching platform for setting up the general and distinct experiments for the measurement and control specialty students,or as an experimental system for design of a rotorcraft.
