Abstract

Our article talks about embodied testimonies in performance as acts of counternarration. We will proceed to the analysis of works, between the narrative and the performative representations of an extreme reality, to denounce the feminine oppression. We will demonstrate the performance potential to raises itself as an acted "dialogue" (Richard, on 2014: 59), a staged-speech (physical or verbal). This discourse, inspired by the other's real-life experience, transmits facts about terrible conditions of the feminine body : rape, murder and sequestration. The performance becomes in this way a coverage of the horror, to increase the awareness of the spectator and to begin a kind of dialogue. In Rape Scene, Ana Mendieta shows herself naked and bounded to talk about the invisible crimes, these ones who produce sufferance of the intimate feminine body. In the performance Dolores 10h to 10h, the artist Coco Fusco decides to recreate the infernal experience of a Mexican worker in maquiladora that have been sequestrated by her employer. Such performative actions answer to the needs of "giving sense" regarding of the painful experience and to compose a discursive rationalization, a distanciation (Danblon, on 2007: 56). The transmission of the tracks of past allows the person dehumanized to find an identity by the word or the movement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
