Abstract

The article discusses the control mechanism in the immunology of contact dermatitis. In the conventional immunizing process, a third population of specific lymphocytes as well as effector and memory cells are generated. These cells have an adverse activity and control the generation of effector cells. The mode of action of suppressor cells has been studied using guinea pigs as experimental animal and dinitrochlorobenzene as sensitizer. To study the effect of suppressor cells, the ability of cyclophosphamide to eliminate these cells has been used.
