Abstract

Objective: To analyze the blood rheology and hemodynamics in patients with primary open angle glaucoma and explore its relationship. Methods: 43 patients(n=51 eyes)with primary open angle glaucoma treated in our hospital from January 2015 to June 2016 were collected as case group, at the same time, 25 healthy volunteers(n=50 eyes)were selected as control group. The blood rheology parameters such as fibrinogen, whole blood specific viscosity, plasma ratio viscosity of the two groups were detected, the spectrum of central retinal artery(CRA) and ophthalmic artery(OA) in two groups were detected by color Doppler ultrasound, and hemodynamic parameters such as resistance index(RI), peak systolic velocity(PSV), end diastolic velocity(EDV) were compared between the two groups. Results: The fibrinogen, low shear and high shear whole blood viscosity, plasma ratio viscosity of case group were higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The RI in CRA, OA of case group was higher than that of control group respectively, and the PSV, EDV in CRA, OA of case group were lower than those of control group respectively, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The fibrinogen, low shear and high shear whole blood viscosity, plasma ratio viscosity of blood rheology in patients with primary open angle glaucoma were positive association with RI of hemodynamics, which were negative association with PSV, EDV of hemodynamics, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion: There are blood circulation disorder with different degrees in patients with primary open angle glaucoma, joint detection of blood rheology and hemodynamics can be used to be an important indicator for the diagnosing and evaluating prognosis of primary open angle glaucoma.
