Abstract
- The article focuses on the close link between economic performance and citizen satisfaction with democracy in Southern Europe. Topics discussed include the impact of political uncertainty in Greece, Italy, Portugal and Spain on the countries' economic landscape, the use of the Eurobarometer series to measure satisfaction with democracy and the relationship between economic development and citizen satisfaction.
