Abstract

The article explores the spectacles, speculations, and the language of flow in the novel "Ulysses" by James Joyce. It argues that Joyce represents speculative practices and adopts a speculative narrative logic to expose as an illusory discursive practice. The author also argues that Joyce's speculation is an interest in the bonfire financial capitalization of artistic value in the modern period. It cites Franco Moretti's argument on the cultural and social relationships in "Ulysses."
