Abstract

A new method has been developed at the Institute for Non-Metallic Materials at Clausthal University of Technology that, under given burning conditions, makes it possible to estimate the degree of alite formation that is dependent on the heterogeneity. The raw meal homogeneity is obtained using focused X-ray radiation and then quantified by a new procedure. The expected degree of alite formation is derived as the quotient of the alite content determined in the laboratory burning test and the thermodynamic equilibrium. Associated with this is the aim to achieve a higher alite yield by measures to refine and homogenize the raw meal, [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
