Abstract

Presents a study which examined the estimation and removal of the continuum on which the X-ray spectrum is superimposed, in energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence analysis. Comparison of continuum amplitude with peak amplitudes; Description of an approach to continuum removal based on mathematical morphology; Results of this study.
