Abstract
- Objectives: The RE-AIM framework was used to evaluate the impact of a written workplace physical activity (PA) policy. Methods: Sixty-five employees from one company were assigned to an intervention or control group. The intervention group received a written policy that provided time during the workday to walk. Physical activity was measured with pedometers and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Results: Findings revealed that reach and adoption were low, effectiveness was mixed, and implementation was good. Conclusions: Few workplace PA interventions provide information about external validity. Findings can inform the translation of a PA policy to other real word companies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
