Abstract
- Pathological jealousy can be seen in all generations. It is known to be difficult to treat, especially in older patients. In middle-aged patients, it is commonly treated with neuroleptics like pimozide but in elder patients treatment options are limited because of the adverse side-effects of neuroleptics, such as extrapyramidal syndrome. The present study documents the successful treatment of a 98-year-old Japanese man who showed pathological jealousy using tiapride without any adverse side-effects. Concluding that tiapride might be considered the medicine of choice in all kinds of monodelusional disorders among the elderly. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
