Abstract

The author examines the reluctance of individuals to assume responsibility and accept blame as a feature of the reign of sin described in the New Testament book Romans. Topics covered include how Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis in the Old Testament appeal to an external agency to excuse their moral failure, efforts to mitigate their guilt, and how the apostle Judas and the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate tried to transfer blame to another moral agent in the New Testament.
