Abstract

In the process of ocean engineering construction, considering the rainfall is frequent at engineering field, there isn't enough long time to dry the coral sand, so the coral sand is half dry when used. Studying the performance of half-dry coral sand which under the natural conditions is very useful for mixing coral sand concrete, reducing construction cost and has high research significance and application value. The test results show that the coral sand early water absorption speed is very fast, 2 h water absorption rate reached 2.5 %, water absorption speed gradually slow down after 10 h, 48 h water absorption rate reached 6.4 %, water absorption rate has an obvious turning point at 8 h when water absorption rate is 5.3 % at 8 h, is 83 % of 48 h water absorption rate. Select feature water absorption rate 4 % to 6 % as additional water consumption, and determine the total water/cement ratio and pure water/cement ratio are reasonable, can reflect the reality of the coral sand concrete pure water/ cement ratio, pre-wetting can significantly improve the coral sand concrete working performance and mechanical properties.
