Abstract

The article focuses on the issues regarding resurrected species which legal implications particularly for conservation with availability of well-preserved DNA, existence of closely related species who may serve as host or surrogate parents. It mentions attempts to restore via cloning such as Pyrenean ibex, Australian gastric-brooding frog. It also mentions Species Survival Commission (SSC) of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) published de-extinction guidelines.
