Abstract

Introduction. The tool of bilingualism has become a leader currently, bearing in mind that social cultural requirements of national environment are bigger each time. Globalization, in general, has incorporated, to national education, new demands that, in turn, generate renewed challenges for all agents of the education system. To project bilingualism as a tool for improving the profile of Colombian students may be the result of present and future demands in education topics for competitiveness. Objective. To analyze the convenience for adopting in Colombia the AICLE method (Aprendizaje integrado de contenido y lengua extranjera) in Spanish, or CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in English, widely disclosed and accepted in European countries and that, according to recognized studies, has had excellent results in the teaching of foreign languages. Materials and Methods. A descriptive/exploratory study was carried out using a questionnaire designed using Coyle y Marsh (2010) parameters, which collected opinions of 30 teachers, who are currently developing AICLE in bilingual high schools of the country. Information was tabulated in Excel program and consolidated graphs were carried out, for more illustration of findings. Results. It was appreciated that teachers have a good perception of the AICLE method and they deem possible to implement it in bilingual high schools with a projection toward improvement of competitiveness-. Conclusions. AICLE method has a wide acceptance and international disclosure and its dynamics, what make it easier the renewal of pedagogical models, and its essence coincides with competitiveness policies of the country.
