Scholars Perceptions about HEC Library Resources and Services: A Survey of User's Satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims at the assessing and improvising the services - digital library, books, journals, newspapers, Tumitin software for plagiarism, indexing.and abstracting and PhD theses - rendered by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Library. User's satisfaction is considered as key element to assess the current status of the services in the world. In order to evaluate the services of library from the students' vintage point, the researchers sought feedback from the visitors of the HEC library using a survey research method. The research measured the users' satisfaction level about library ambience, behavior of supporting staff, number and variety of data bases, digital library, availability of journals, indexing services, access of PhD theses and plagiarism detecting facility in 2015. Sample of the study comprised of 128 library visitors. A three point Likert Scale was used from 1 (least satisfied) to 3 (most satisfied). The study expressed that the mostly users were moderately satisfied with the current services offered in the HEC library.
