Abstract

The thermal stability and crystallization kinetics of Fe73Al5Ga2P11-xC5B4Six (x = 1, 3) metallic glasses have been studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The activation energy and the frequency factor associated with the two-step crystallization process were derived by the Kissinger method. 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy studies on the as-quenched ribbons reveal that the magnetic hyperfine field distributions on both alloys are similar, suggesting that the local magnetic disorder in this system is not affected with the increases of the Si content.
