Abstract

The temperature behavior of the toroidal field (TF) main busbar cable-in-conduit conductors for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor in 15 MA plasma current reference scenario is analyzed by Gandalf code in this paper. The current sharing temperature T\text{cs} of MBCN1 sample at SULTAN conditions and TF main busbar at 15 MA scenario is simulated by Gandalf code, and computed from the COMSOL model, and T \text{cs} of MBCN1 sample computed in this paper is close to that tested in SULTAN. The minimum quench energy of TF main busbar with heating pulse input spatial extents of 1, 3, 6, 8, and 10 mm and durations of 40, 60, 80, and 100 $\mu$s is simulated by Gandalf code in this paper. With heating pulse input region length of 1 mm and duration 40 $\mu$s, the normal length of TF main busbar is simulated by Gandalf code. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
