Can the couch be used in the psychoanalytic treatment of adolescents, or is that an overstepping of the child psychotherapist's professional limitations? This paper describes the psychoanalytic treatment of a young adult who was 18 years old at the start of therapy. The case report is partly taken from the author's qualifying paper at the end of her psychotherapy training. The treatment was conducted twice a week on the couch over a period of 3 ½ years.
