The article discusses data from studies conducted by the ACT Consortium in sub-Saharan countries and Afghanistan revealing health workers undertreat malaria and overuse antibiotics despite rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs). Topics discussed include comments from Heidi Hopkins of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) on rise in antibiotic resistant infections, Patricia Walker of the American Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene on it and increase in antibiotic prescriptions.
