Abstract

The article focuses on the trauma faced by students in the U.S. with undocumented parents. Topics discussed include percentage from kindergarten to grade 12 who have at least one undocumented immigrant parent according to a 2014 Pew Research Center report, an effort in Austin, Texas that provides information to students, parents and other community members on how to respond to immigration enforcement, and actions that educators can take to help their immigrant students.
