Abstract
- The article discusses a study related to increase in minimal erythemal dose following oral administration of an antioxidant complex based on a mix of carotenoids. It mentions use of naturally occurring substances with antioxidant and photoprotective effects to complement solar filters in strategies designed to minimize the adverse effects of ultraviolet radiation (UVR). It also mentions use of carotenes and xanthophylls as an adjuvant treatment in photosensitivity conditions.
