Abstract

The article discusses the properties of microalgae present in both marine and freshwater environments. Topics discussed include microalgae as human food source or nutritional supplements, concerns associated with consumption of microalgae, and the challenges for developing large-scale photobioreactors. It also explores safety and regulatory issues related to consumption of microalgae.
