The complex (IPr)Cu(I)Cl with IPr = 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazole-2-ylidene shows a luminescence in the UV (λ max = 375 nm) in solution and in the solid state (λ max = 347 nm). This emission is suggested to originate from a MLCT triplet. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
