Abstract

The article discusses how Japan is feeling pressurized to reconsider its military constraints in view of North Korea's launch of a missile that flew over it and landed in the Pacific Ocean. It adds that any military operation by the U.S. administration against North Korea makes Japan prone to the former's retaliatory missile attack at the U.S. troops based in the latter's territory. Japanese missile defense systems are reportedly capable of only intercepting missiles on their descent.
