Abstract

The article focuses on the role played by multinational business companies in pushing more people to get hooked on junk foods. The case of several door-to-door vendors selling Western-style processed food and sugary drinks to the most isolated places of Latin America, Africa and Asia is cited. Emphasis on how the slow growth of food firms like Nestle, PepsiCo and General Mills in wealthiest countries have motivated them to aggressively expand their presence in developing nations.
