Damping of wind turbines The hub heights of wind turbines in Germany have significantly increased over the years. The requirements for these towers are also increasing - especially due to the high focus on costs. Since turbines are increasingly installed with variable rotor speeds, there is a high incentive to avoid potential resonance issues. This article investigates the influence of the structural damping on the mechanical loads on high hybrid-towers.
