JUVENTUD RURAL. Trayectorias teóricas y dilemas identitarios.

The article focuses on the production of knowledge in rural youth in Latin America. It suggests a lack of social scientific investigation, in rural anthropology and sociology, in fundamental areas such as the formation of rural youth as identitarian subjects and social actors. It analyzes the contextual theoretical elements that contribute to this deficiency. The study proposes the conceptual restructuring of some of the theoretical approximations on the subject of youth identity, with the aim of filling in some of the gaps that exist in the knowledge about this group, which is often made "invisible" or subject to stereotypes. Advances in anthropological investigation in Chile are discussed.
