Kari Polanyi Levitt on Karl Polanyi and the economy as a social construct.

The article presents the author's speech on economist Karl Polanyi and the economy as a social construct, delivered before the Association for Social Economics (ASE) World Congress, Brock University in June 2015. Topics discussed include Polanyi as economist of the social, family influences in Polanyi’s lifelong commitment to socialism; and Polanyi’s "Double Movement" of social resistance to marketization.
