Abstract
- This article examines Foucault interpretations of the relation between Kant and the Auklärung: first, in the conference "What is Critique?" (1978), and second in the articles called "What is Enlightenment?" (1984). We intend to show how his point of view evidences a practical understanding of modernity. Foucault found in the ground of Kantian philosophy an attitude that came from critical thinking, a practice that consists in the decision to not being governed like that. The main philosophical consequence of this posture is the construction of a thought structured in an ontology of the present, understood then as the ontology of becoming. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
