SPREADing the stroke units? PROSIT!

The article focuses on practice guidelines for stroke units. In their paper Essential Requirements for Practice Guidelines at National and Local Levels, F. Nonino and A. Liberati have addressed a relevant problem in Italy. They explored the local practice guidelines on stroke management from 7 Italian stroke units, using explicit criteria to evaluate the internal and external validities. Particularly, they used the best evidence obtained through systematic reviews as a requirement for the internal validity of the guidelines.
