Is osteopontin a promising prognostic biomarker for cholangiocarcinoma?

The article reports on the translational study analyzed serum osteopontin levels of the 107 patients with cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) and 10 patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). Multivariate Cox-regression analysis has revealed that initial serum osteopontin concentration is independently associated with the long-term survival in the patients with CCA post curative resection.
