Abstract

The article analyzes the implications of big data for policies in the health care industry. It explores the use of big data to transform personal care, clinical care and public health, and related research. The role of big data in the development of models of disease progression and in the provision of personalized medicine is discussed, as well as the need to establish accountability and transparency due to the increasing complexity and sophistication of data-linkage methods.
