Abstract

In this paper an unconcluded educational experience of our history is studied. As any educational proposal it synthesizes a political pedagogic stance, based on a conception of man and society. Such proposal is nurtured in the debates of its time, in the yearning for the social revolution and the ways of making it progress, in the dialectical discourses that impelled it and in the people who supported, dreamt of and became impassioned about it. We present here the partial results of an investigation whose aim is to inquire how the Adult Education Reactivation Campaign of Reconstruction (from now on CREAR, for its Spanish acronym) was organized and implemented in Córdoba in the years 1973 and 1974. In this paper we intend to account for the political and organizational aspects of the campaign. It is an anthropological and historical study that approaches an educational proposal which is significant for its conception of adult education, of literacy and of culture, since it departs from the models prevailing in the international organisms. We work from the analysis of the documents in which the pedagogic political stances were put forward, as well as the conceptual interstices that led to some divergent practices and parallel interpretations.3 We also intend to study "the not recorded history"4 through the retrieval of the stories of the social actors that participated from different positions in the campaign.
