Abstract

This paper is a report on progress made in the research work carried out for the Final Paper needed to meet the requirements of the licenciate diploma in the Sciences of Education. The aim of this research is to inquire into the links, tensions and negotiations that obtain in an experience in which an operating connection has been set between the adult education practices generated by a private social organization and the public adult education school of a neighborhood located in the southeast area of the city of Córdoba. Although our analysis begins by considering an educational policy generated by the State, the Program of Literacy Meeting, we conceive "Educational policies" in a broad sense (Achilli, 1998), that is, including both those that are generated by the State, and those stemming from the other different actors involved in the process -whether they are teachers, colaborating groups, and parents, whose ideas and proposals, through a dialectical interplay with the state’s policies, can reinforce, reject, or confront them. Thus other public spheres from which the collective creation of policies stem is recognized, and this makes it possible for us to see the neighborhood, the social organization and the school as areas of interaction where meanings and political actions are built. Within these limits we will focus on two pecular dimensions of their link: the use and significance of the various educational spaces and the responsibilities assigned to the different actors.
