Delicate Ag/V2O5/TiO2 ternary nanostructures as a high-performance photocatalyst.

Abstract

Here we report, for the first time, delicate ternary nanostructures consisting of TiO 2 nanoplatelets co-doped with Ag and V 2 O 5 nanoparticles. The relationship between the composition and the morphology is systematically studied. We find a remarkable synergistic effect among the three components, and the resulting delicate Ag/V 2 O 5 /TiO 2 ternary nanostructures exhibit a superior photocatalytic performance over neat TiO 2 nanoplatelets as well as Ag/TiO 2 and V 2 O 5 /TiO 2 binary nanostructures for the degradation of methyl orange. We believe our delicate Ag/V 2 O 5 /TiO 2 ternary nanostructures may lay a basis for developing next-generating, high-performance composite photocatalysts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
