Abstract

A series of (Sr 0.6 Ca 0.4 ) (Co y Mn 1-y ) O 3 (0.2 ≤ y ≤ 1.0) ceramic were synthesized by the simple cost effective chemical co-precipitation method. X-ray diffraction analysis show that all samples having orthorhombic crystal structure. Replacement of Mn by Co plays an important role in changing the magnetic properties. The (Sr 0.6 Ca 0.4 ) (Co y Mn 1-y ) O 3 (0.2 ≤ y ≤ 1.0) ceramic shows Paramagnetic to Antiferromagnetic (PM-AFM) transition, at temperature T = 175 K. Negative magnetization is observed for all samples except Co = 1.0. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
