Abstract

The article focuses on some problems in geographic education with special reference to secondary schools. Education is not today what it was twenty-five years ago. No longer are the best methods of teaching a given subject decided by show of hands in a class room or applause at a teachers' institute. A successful worker in education must follow those fundamental principles of his young science, that have been measured quantitatively or tested and proved by other experimental methods. The apprentice system, by which so many of us have come to our life work, cannot now be considered the best for success in teaching any subject.
