Abstract

This article examines the public policies for family agriculture (AF) and food security/sovereignty (SSA), which were implemented in the province of Misiones (specifically in the municipalities of Comandante Andresito and Bernardo de Irigoyen) in the context of discussion, elaboration and implementation of these policies in Argentina between 2003 and 2015. The empirical work is based on the survey, systematization and analysis of secondary and primary information obtained in fieldwork conducted in the province between 2012 and 2015. Through the investigation on policy networks and territorial mediation, the analysis shows that there are contradictions between different intervention levels and a plurality of ideas and concrete strategies to intervene around the problems of AF and the achievement of the SSA, making visible the role played by local actors and the power relations between them in the predominant orientation that the policies take.
