Abstract

The article discusses the process of developing taxonomies in relation to broader and narrower categories. Topics include the impact of information accumulation on taxonomies, the relation of taxonomies to job descriptions for postdoctoral positions held by scientists, and the creation of taxonomies of alternative careers for people with sciences Ph.D. degrees.
