Expanding the contribution of the social sciences to social-ecological resilience research.

An editorial is presented which states that social-ecological resilience helps to understand in developing sustainable futures following an understanding of biophysical, environmental, and human systems and refers several papers submitted by authors on the subject. He further expresses that social-ecological resilience requires progressive collaboration among several scientific disciplines amalgamating traditional and trans-formative approaches with reflexive trans-disciplinary method.
