Abstract

The β-Ni(OH) 2 nanostructures have been prepared by hydrothermal with ammonia as alkali source. The morphology of β-Ni(OH) 2 evolves from hexagon sheets to flower-like hierarchical structure built up from the nanosheets as increasing the amount of ammonia. Hierarchical β-Ni(OH) 2 nanostructures have strong adsorption effect on methyl orange dyes. The adsorption mechanism of β-Ni(OH) 2 has been investigated, which could be expressed by pseudo-second order kinetic model with best match. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
