Abstract

The article offers information on the epidemiology and prognosis of an acute postconcussive syndrome. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), traumatic brain injury (TBI) can be defined as a disruption in the normal function of the brain caused by a blow, or jolt to the head or a penetrating head injury. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS) prove effective in treating prolonged postconcussive symptoms.
