Abstract
- The article focuses on protests by teachers in Oklahoma and Kentucky protested for better pay and increased school funding on April 2, 2018 that shut down scores of schools. It refers to nine-day wildcat strike in February by West Virginia teachers that provided the spark to that fire. It emphasizes the need to recruit and retain high-quality teachers for students' future success.
