Abstract

The article reports that an estimated 42,000 gallons of diesel fuel spilled in Posey County, Indiana in March 2018 when a pipeline ruptured, allowing fuel to flow into a creek. The response was rapid, minimizing the environmental impacts. The cause of the rupture is undetermined but an investigation is underway. Marathon Oil Co. (Marathon) detected a loss of pressure.
