Abstract

The article presents a case study of a 22-year-old man who was evaluated at the Wills Eye Hospital Emergency Room due to worsening pain and swelling of left upper eyelid. Results of the initial examination of the patient who was diagnosed with orbital cellulitis, an infectious process in orbital tissue posterior, are offered. Treatment includes left superior orbitotomy with irrigation and drainage, functional endoscopic sinus surgery, and intravenous cefepime, metronidazole and vancomycin.
