Abstract

The article discusses study which investigated the accuracy of liver stiffness measurement (LSM) during direct acting antiviral (DAA) therapy to estimate clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH) and to predict long-term outcome in compensated advanced chronic liver disease (cACLD) patients after obtaining sustained virologic response (SVR). Topics covered include a reduction of LSM during treatment, and the role of HPV-induced inflammation on hepatic vascular resistance.
