BIG DATA, ALGORITMOS Y PROPIEDAD INTELECTUAL.

The importance of Big Data and algorithms today is undeniable. The increasing use of this technology has raised new discussions regarding the adequacy of current regulations on intellectual property. This paper intends to clarify what these shortcomings are, if any, by analyzing these debates in light of the legislation in force in Spain and the European Union. It is concluded that such insufficiency is not as broad as it is usually thought, and the particular cases (unstructured Big Data and algorithms) in which there are ambiguities or voids are specified.
