- The article reports on the 4.1% growth of the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) in the second quarter of 2018 based on data from the Commerce Department. Also cited are the increased consumer spending as main driver of growth, the sharp decline in unemployment, the record job growth, as well as the comment of President Donald Trump on the economic data.
