Abstract
- The article explores the role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the economy of Myanmar. It discusses the economic contributions of SOEs by employing thousands of people and providing about half of government revenue. The need to reform the structure of SOEs is explained. The differences between SOES in Myanmar, Thailand and Malaysia are also identified.
