Abstract

In the article, the author discusses the relationship among gender, shame and visibility. Also cited are the traditional characterizations of shame, the feelings of invisibility and shame of oppressed persons compared to that of socially privileged individuals, as well as the reasons why women seems to be more shame-prone than men as cited by Joanne Entwiste.
